Ah, but where have you gone my dear friends—away… far or near?

I haven’t seen you for such a very long time…

You used to listen to my dreams, and to my fears

To all my everyday worries and cares

To the days when I cried all those tears…

Oh where have you gone my dear friends?

I do miss you so.

I suppose you are visiting other young children since I have grown old and gray

Soothing their cries of pain and fear

Sharing the memories they hold dear

You were there when the giant tiger appeared, and was about to eat me alive

And you told him to disappear, and he slithered into the darkness

You were there when the earthquake shattered my feelings of security

And you told me everything would be all right, and fortunately for me it was...

Every night when darkness drew near

You would appear in my closet so dear

You never budged an inch from my eyes

You just stood there listening to my thoughts and dreams

Listening to all my childhood schemes

I was scared of the dark you know

Lulu, Beep, and Bop…where are you now?

Are you rescuing children from their nightmares and fears

Comforting them, and holding them close and sharing their dreams?

Oh where, oh where have the years taken you?

You left me as I started to grew up…

Well, now my friends I want you back…

Lulu, Beep, and Bop…where are you?

I sometimes cry inside, and wish you were here to listen to my fears,

To dry my tears

To rescue me from that ruthless giant called Age

Yes, I have grown old and grey, but I remember you so clearly

My parents told me you didn’t exist, but ah, we know better don't we?

Lulu, Beep, and Bop…

My childhood closet friends…

I know you were there

I saw your shadows so very clear

You held me each night so very dear

You listened to my dreams,

To all my childhood schemes

And do you know

That some of my dreams have now come true

All because I had a dream like you…

You told me to keep my dreams alive—never to give up…

Oh, but where oh where are you now?

I know you are out there somewhere...

If I searched hard enough I know I could find you...

Oh yes, my memory is clearing...I know where to find you now...

You live within my heart and memories held dear...
