On the Other Side of Forever
Written by Holly McKimson
I swear I saw her… yes I did… on the other side of Forever…
She sat there sipping the sweet honey from a colorful, multi-colored flower
You say you don’t believe me?
Her hair was woven with golden threads that sparkled in the sunlight
She pretended not to see me, but I think she knew I was there
You say you don’t believe me?
Transparent wings decorated with design
Her eyes… wild and free…
I wanted to reach out and capture her—
this tiny creature so beautiful and free
And take her home with me
to show all the world my most precious find
But as I watched her sitting there on the other side of Forever
I knew I would not take FREEDOM away from her
For as I watched her, I thought about my own freedom
And how precious it is to me…
So who am I to take hers away this very day
To enslave her to my ways and my world
And to those who would not believe she existed anyway?
And so it is, that as long as she is free
I will hold her beauty within my mind and within my grasp
For I can return to the edge of Forever whenever my heart desires.
I will watch her at the edge of Forever…
Forever and Beyond…
She also watches me…
You say you don't believe me?
